Bath Winter Farmers' Market is in full swing!

Great things are happening at the Freight Shed and the market mornings are bustling!! So many people are actually walking to "their" downtown market, vendors are getting at least another hour sleep in the mornings and some are driving smaller vehicles since they don't need to transport their tables. Market mornings are also turning into a great time connect with area non-profits including KELT, ArtVAn, BRCTC so far.  This week Main St Bath will have information about all the wonderful things happening in Bath during December and Samantha Ricker will be on hand to tell you about her new book: The Maine Conscious Consumer. Next week the Bath Forestry Committee will be giving away small potted evergreen trees! Remember the winter market hours are 9AM-Noon.

We really could use some help battening down the hatches! Here's what's on deck - This "Hands on Friday" November the 30th  Noon -3:00PM Please join us - bring a friend. Together we will:
  • Install plastic sheeting at east sill the length of the building
  • Install rigid insulation at the soffits
  • Re-purposed carpet for added insulation below vendor stalls
  • Modify vendor stall wall
  • Insulate below the bathroom
  • Pick up some donated lumber (bring a truck if you've got one)
  • General housekeeping
  • Measure south wall pine boards / determine how much material is needed to complete the wall
Please let me know if you can make it. We'll have some warm Sparrow Farm Cranberry Cake.

Updates and Meeting on Oct.18th

Join us tomorrow morning at 8:00AM for the last of our 3 preparing for the market meetings!

We are getting so close!!  Here is what has been happening and what is in the works: Mid Coast Energy has installed the heating system and NW Sewall installed the propane. The storm doors have arrived at Coastal Glass and will be installed on Friday - into the super elegant and functional frames Luke and Eric Winne built and generously donated!  The Electrical Technology Students from BRCTC (under Steve Vachon's instruction) are only a few days away from finishing the wiring of the south end of the building!  On Thursday Higmo will deliver locally harvested and milled lumber for floor repairs.  Don't miss their open house:  Saw Mill Days on Nov.3 and 4th. http://www.higmos.com/events.html

Maine's First Ship volunteers and Jay Coffey in particular, have been working hard to consolidate the boat building operation and exhibits to make space for the Farmers' Market!  What a team! Market goers will enjoy learning more about this important project based in the Freight Shed.

Many thanks to the great crew who scraped, painted, raked, cleaned and more, before the pot luck supper at the Freight Shed on Sunday!

If you have some time and want to volunteer during the next two weeks - just let us know. Or simply stop over on a Thursday or Saturday morning!

Remember make sure if nothing else, put Nov. 3rd on you calendar for the Winter Bath Farmers' Market opening.. then every Saturday after that!!
